Stroke is a medical condition where the body of a person suffers disability like paralysis of half of his body (hemiplegic), difficulty in speaking, immobility, weakness of muscles and inaccuracy in remembering. This is caused by the depletion of oxygen supply in some parts of the brain because some nerves where blood is supposed to pass become clogged. The risk factors that contribute to this are: hypertension, diabetes mellitus, smoking and cardiac conditions.

Patients who suffer stroke should be rushed to a hospital as soon as possible so that they can immediately undergo medical treatments and procedures such as the administration of anti-coagulant drugs and CT-Scan.  Time is critical when it comes to stroke victims, because people whose central nervous system is injured like in the case of stroke have a six-month golden period. In the first six months after the stroke, the patient has the highest rate of recovery, hence they should exhaust all options and do what must be done like take medications prescribed by specialists and undergo rehabilitation.
